Sweep mode is a feature of the Waveform Generator instrument that changes the waveform frequency linearly over time. This is sometimes called a "chirp". The start of this sweep can happen automatically ("Internal" trigger), or in response to an event.
When a trigger occurs, either automatically or in response to an event, waveform generation will begin at the Start frequency and sweep to the End frequency over a given duration. The Start frequency is set in the output waveform, the Stop frequency and duration are set in Modulation settings.
The source of trigger events can be selected from the following options:
- Internal: Automatically restarts the sweep every time it completes
- Input: One of the inputs to the instrument, either an ADC channel or a connection from another instrument in Multi-instrument Mode
- Output: Trigger from the signal generated in one of the other Output channels.
- External: Trigger from the EXT input on the back panel if for Moku devices with a back panel trigger input.
