Moku Waveform Generator and Amplitude Modulation
Moku's Waveform Generator instrument is a flexible function generator capable of six different forms of modulation:
- Amplitude Modulation (AM)
- Frequency Modulation (FM)
- Phase Modulation (PM)
- Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM)
- Burst
- Sweep
Here we demonstrate amplitude modulation on a Moku:Lab. The Waveform Generator produces an 8.31 kHz carrier on Channel 1. The modulation source is initially an internally generated signal; the source is then switched to be the Moku:Lab's Output 2 channel.
Changing the waveform on Channel 2 from sine to square, we see the change reflected in the modulation of Channel 1.
The modulation source can also be set to either of Moku:Lab's two inputs; thus enabling a truly flexible amplitude modulated (AM) signal generator.
